1970's Amigurumi Shanghai China Handmade Handpainted Crocheted Button-face Dolls. It is said to have originated in Japan in the early 1900's. Shanghai China produced many of these dolls between the 1960's and 1980's. Their silk faces are hand-painted and their details are hand-stitched and quite complex.

This is a beautiful little baby doll with a hooded orange onesie. Her face is hand painted on silk.
