How wonderfully random is this? Better Cooking & Baking is a 1956 promotional cookbook produced by Robertshaw-Fulton Controls of Canada, the people who made the temperature control fixtures for electric ovens (not the oven, mind you, just the temperature controls.)

This cookbook features temperature controlled recipes. And when you think about it, it's odd that there was ever a time you couldn't control the temperature of your oven or stovetop. In other words, this cozy little cookbook was cutting edge for its time!
