A beautiful anthology of American furniture design from the first half of the 20th Century, Furniture Treasury was written by Wallace Nutting in 1928 and includes 5,000 black & white photographs. This is a subsequent edition published in 1954 combining both volumes of the original work into one. 

ABOUT THE AUTHOR (Courtesy of Wikipedia) Wallace Nutting (1861 – 1941) was a U.S. minister, photographer, artist, and antiquarian, who is most famous for his landscape photos of New England. He also was an accomplished author, lecturer, furniture maker, antiques expert and collector. His atmospheric photographs helped spur the Colonial Revival style.
