"The animal dwells where his feet are; the man where his thoughts are." So says Henry Ward Beecher.

According to Wikipedia, Henry Ward Beecher (1813 – 1887) was an American Congregationalist clergyman, social reformer, and speaker, known for his support of the abolition of slavery, his emphasis on God's love, and his 1875 adultery trial. His rhetorical focus on Christ's love has influenced mainstream Christianity to this day.

The Life of Henry Ward Beecher is a beautiful, antique biography described by the publisher as "a comprehensive and accurate history of the great divine from his birth to his grave including selections from his sermons, writings, speeches, and letters, illustrating the multiform activity and genius of this great American editor, lecturer, preacher, novelist, and philosopher."
