Vintage Ceramic Figurine | Souvenir of San Juan Capistrano | Man in Orange Suite | California Souvenir

Just after WWII, Japan became a center for inexpensive figurines made for export to the US. These figurines all have a sweetness of countenance and characteristically simple paint schemes. This figurine depicts a young man in a bright orange suit holding a bouquet of blue flowers. It is labeled with "Souvenir of San Juan Capistrano, California" and marked "Japan" on the bottom.
