For research in practical new methods of plant propagation, few names are better known than that of James S. Wells. His articles in "The American Nurseryman" magazine have become basic guides for large-scale growers everywhere. His experiments with constant mist, with hormones, and with fertilizers have contributed measurably to the establishment of new nursery procedures.
