"Cuthbert and his friend Eli have decided to go on an exploring trip down the Saskatchewan River, armed with the most modern weapons, camping equipment and canoes. Shortly after beginning the trip they meet with a mysterious Scotch Canadian boy whom they persuade to join their expedition. Together they foil the designs of a crooked timber thief and his half breed confederate, an assist in quelling a fire in the trading post. At last the trip is concluded and the mysterious past of their Canadian friend is unravelled."
