Chinese Shard Box You're Choice of Design | Trinket Box Made from Antique Chinese Porcelain | Hand Painted Blue & White Trinket Box

Shard boxes are made in China using shards of antique pottery as ornamentation. We recently picked up a collection of these beautiful boxes. They are very difficult to figure out age, as we are not Chinese porcelain experts). The whiter boxes may be newer porcelain, or they may just be better quality. The boxes appear to be silver plated and there's some residue from stickers that were once on the bottom on some of them. We decided not to try to clean the boxes as we weren't sure what the metal was and we love the patina of old metal. All of the boxes close tightly.
