Munro Leaf Classics | How to Behave and Why and How to Speak Politely and Why | Set of 2 Social/Emotional Books for Young Children
Munro Leaf is one of our all-time favorite children's books authors (think Ferdinand the Bull). This is a SET OF TWO reprints of his classic social/emotional books: How to Speak Politely (originally published in 1934) and How to Behave and Why (originally published in 1946). The books were brought back into print in 2002/2005 by Universe Publishing.
The books are in like-new condition (with that never been read feeling as you open them), so they'd make a great gift for anyone who loves Munro, children's books, or is concerns with social/emotional learning. Or as Munro says..."Ever since the days when men stopped living in caves, the good and decent people of the world have found out that there are certain ways we all have to behave if we want to live together pleasantly. The good ways, or the good rules for behaving have lasted a long time so they must have something."
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Wilbur Monroe Leaf (a.k.a. Munro Leaf) (1905 – 1976) was an American writer of children's literature who wrote and illustrated nearly 40 books during his 40-year career. He is best known for The Story of Ferdinand (1936), a children's classic which he wrote on a yellow legal-length pad in less than an hour. Labeled as subversive, it stirred an international controversy.
