ABOUT THE COLLECTION
We have been fortunate to acquire a stunning collection of ORIGINAL watercolor and gouache paintings from the estate of artist Shu Dick Ju and Frances Ju. Mr. Ju was a fine watercolor artist. His work is well known and loved in the New England area, celebrated in the Ju collection at the Museum of Fine Arts in Springfield, MA. In addition, he was a prolific commercial artist, producing many pieces for greeting card companies including Rust Craft Greeting Cards based in Dedham, MA, the largest greeting card manufacturer in the country in the 1950s/60s. It appears Frances Ju was also a commercial artist as some of the pieces are signed "Fran Ju."
We present the work as the artist created it on artist board with the original masking, crop marks and project information along the outside borders. Those industrial markings were used by the printer to transfer this original artwork to the printing press.
The piece could be mounted and framed as is or matted to present the work as a finished piece of art.
